Restoring Voices, Rebuilding Lives

Sex therapy

Sex is full of excitement and adventure, often intertwined with moments of delightful kinkiness. However, when it doesn’t go as expected it can be confusing and frustrating. The more you stress, the more things go wrong, or orgasms become even more elusive. Your mind gets trapped in a never-ending loop that goes in circles making you feel even worse. Sometimes, you think there’s something wrong with you. You feel stuck inside your head.

Let’s pause and think about your partner/s. They notice when you’re stressed, and it can impact them as well. They might blame themselves, get a bit frustrated, or feel like they’re not measuring up. This can add to the confusion and beliefs of not ‘being good enough’, creating tension over the strong connection you share.

It is okay to be confused, feel embarrassed, and anxious when opening up about sex.

My mission is to provide you with a safe and judgment-free space where you can freely express your concerns, fears, and beliefs.

Kellie Sheldon - sex and trauma therapist, Perth, Australia

Hi, I’m Kellie. I’m passionate about guiding you through your journey of healing and self-discovery. I truly believe that everyone deserves a safe space to explore their inner world and grow.

Life often throws us challenges, and sometimes those challenges leave deep wounds and scars. Whether you’re grappling with trauma, past experiences, or anything that’s holding you back from realising your dreams, I’m here to walk alongside you.

“Trauma” is a word that’s become all too familiar in our lives. For me, “trauma” is anything that leaves a scar. Your story is unique, and the impact of events on your life are deeply personal. Together, we can rewrite your beliefs that are holding you back, and transform what may feel all too common into something extraordinary and authentic.

Within the sanctuary of my counselling room, every emotion you carry is not just accepted but warmly welcomed. I understand the weight of societal expectations, the pressure to conform, and the need to fit into predefined moulds. Here, those expectations fade away, leaving space for your authentic self to emerge and thrive.

So, if you’re ready to embark on a journey of healing, growth, and self-discovery, I’m here to support you every step of the way. Let’s rewrite your story together and pave the way for the life you’ve always dreamed of living.

Just know, I’ve got you.

Trauma therapy with my reCLAIM method

Do you ever find yourself dwelling on a memory, and are unable to shake the intense emotions? I know, you feel as though it is happening to you right in this moment. Your nervous system clings to these feelings because your brain hasn’t properly processed the event for long-term storage.

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), is one key to disentangling these emotions and giving your nervous system, and emotions, relief. My reCLAIM method is a powerful framework that reshapes and heals negative beliefs about yourself and past experiences. It works particularly well with complex trauma, isolated events, relationship and childhood trauma, sexual trauma, and anxiety. It also incorporates techniques like parts work and somatic (body) therapy for a deeper approach.

Think of it as a roadmap to self-empowerment and healing. Recognise what’s happening in your body, emotions, and boundaries; reconnect with your needs, wants, feelings, and emotions; repair past traumas with techniques like EMDR, parts work, and somatic therapy; and finally, reclaim your life and become the empowered person you’re meant to be.

You can learn about EMDR here and how it may help you.

Guiding you through alternative lifestyles

Kellie Sheldon - Trauma and Sex Therapist, Midland, Perth, Australia, Online

You’re in an alternative relationship – open, poly, swingers, or a Dominant/submissive dynamic – or you might be thinking about joining one.

You’re nervous. You’re excited. You’re scared. Where do you start?

That’s absolutely fine! Sometimes, you may uncover something about yourself, and you might not be sure what it means or how you want it to be.

Sometimes you need a little help to work out your feelings, setting limits, or help with negotiations. That is okay too; it can be confusing.

You might find yourself grappling with feelings of jealousy towards a new partner or feeling left out. Remember, no one judges you as harshly as you judge yourself. Your needs and desires may have evolved, and your D/s dynamic might be growing with new protocols or rules. Navigating your path through existing alternative relationships can be challenging.

Having a safe space to explore and understand your emotions can be incredibly empowering. When someone helps you understand, you feel less alone. It’s okay to ask for help when you want to talk about your feelings, ideas or concerns.

I am here to help you navigate all aspects of new and existing alternative relationships and dynamics. You don’t have to do this by yourself. Reach out to me today.

The secret of change is to focus all of your energy not on fighting the old, but on building the new.
